Howler Monkey and Me

On his limb he disturbs the night with his bellows
And from this blog I do shake the limbs and hoot
relieved though public I am alone
and around the the world the hoots at the speed of light
yet no one is disturbed.
Though lonely am not alone
Thousand lonely monkeys are howling from the their keyboards

PJ

Perceiving, confronting, exhorting, retorting
contending, rending
The courage and clarity and speed of retort
PJ often speaks with staccato slaps
He tolerates no evil with himself
and seems surprised to find others
submerged in their self interest
he shreds their lame excuses like a terrier with a rat
with him I feel sluggish and slimy
reclining in my sty of self pity and doubt
seeking refuge from living
asleep on the sideline instead running the court

Dear GW please help me be more like PJ.

To the Great Whatever

Swirling twirling around and around

Dervish or devilish the thoughts abound

Full of wonder and Prone to blunder

he stumbles into the bright night

Scheming, dreaming and screaming

and gurgling with fright and delight.

The lonely monkey stands smiling and crying

A little afraid of not living and afraid not dying

"Won’t some one groom me"

the lonely monkey cries out to the Great Whatever

with and ancient tongue he does not understand.

This is the first prayer of the lonely monkey
