Is there a cure for this existential funk?
asked the obese orangutan
Solzhenitsyn's salamander sushi
is a sure cure.
you will see the world more clearly through
the ancient ice lens
but you will not like it.

Church History
Studying church history looking for God
like digging for fossils to for looking for life
Just as fossils tells how life came to be as it is but
the stones we find do not convay richness of being alive
like digging for fossils to for looking for life
Just as fossils tells how life came to be as it is but
the stones we find do not convay richness of being alive

Carp
In the warm water beneath the dam
a carp slathers he way through the openings
between the reeds rooting for nuggets
of yum the slimy layer of scum
pretending not to notice
that a thousand miles away
I the center of the universe
am pouting
Buddha
Craving striving eating whining
A week spent clinging
to the hope for meaning
Slowing calming releasing
renewing the unfolding of the eight
we will see if affects the weight

Great Whatever
I come as you need me
when you try to hold and define
you will grip less than air
But if you rest in this moment
and release your expectations
I will come and untangle the knots
of your soul
I am fond of lonely monkeys
If you become still in faith
I will pluck the lice from your insides
In the distance
Are they whimpers or are they screams
I sense another lonely monkey
From a the god like Harry Harlow
experiments of neglect
the screams like gas bubble
trapped in the swamp struggle against
the mud to be released
When the whimpers break free
through vent of vulnerability
Will they be heard and acknowledge
or will others recoil run away
We may never know
but the sensing of another lightens this monkey's load
